General description
Magnesium hydroxide is commonly used as a non-systemic antacid for treating acid-peptic disorders. It helps in the treatment kidney stones patients by reducing the recurrence rate.
Application
Magnesium hydroxide is used as a dietary supplement to study its effects on the absorbtion of factors such as folic acid and iron and the release of the peptide hormone cholecystokinin (CCK).
