Intended purpose
This “Türk’s solution – for leukocytes counting” is used for human-medical cell diagnosis and serves the purpose of the hematological investigation of sample material of human origin. It is a ready-to-use staining solution that
makes target structures evaluable for diagnostic purposes (by staining) in hematological specimen materials.

Unstained structures are relatively low in contrast and are extremely difficult to distinguish under the light microscope. The images created using the staining solutions help the authorized and qualified investigator to better define the form and structure in such cases. Further tests must be carried out according to recognized, valid methods to reach a definitive diagnosis.

Principle
The solution serves the purpose of the manual semiquantitative determination of leukocytes in fresh venous, anticoagulated whole blood using a counting chamber.
The basis of all counting methods is the dilution and preparation of a blood sample of known volume. The erythrocytes are hemolyzed by the acetic acid present in Türk’s solution and the leukocyte nuclei are stained blueviolet by the dye. The required cell type in a defined volume is counted and the number of cells per microliter of blood is then calculated.
