Description
Biolab Yeast Extract Powder is obtained by the aqueous extraction from autolysed baker′s yeast. It is fine, yellow-brown, hygroscopic powder which dissolves easily water to give a clear, yellow-brown solution with a neutral pH value. It may be used in culture media to replace Meat Extract. Yeast Extract has a high vitamin B content, which promotes the growth of many microorganisms. It is free from fermentable carbohydrates and used in a concentration of 3 to 5 grams per litre.
