Description
suitable for lateral flow assay, input: food(s), for Salmonella spp.
General description
Singlepath® Salmonella is a rapid diagnostic test, designed to detect Salmonella bacteria in various food samples. Salmonella is a genus of bacteria that can cause human infections, leading to symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. The Singlepath® Salmonella is an immunochromatographic rapid test based on gold-labeled antibodies to detect the presence of a specific antigen, in this case, the Salmonella bacteria. The test includes a nitrocellulose membrane strip that is coated with antibodies specific to Salmonella antigens. When the sample is applied to the test strip, any Salmonella antigens present will bind to the antibodies on the strip, resulting in the development of a visible test line. The test takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and the results are interpreted based on the presence or absence of the test line. The detection limit can be regarded as less than one colony-forming unit in a 25 g food sample, depending on the serogroup. No additional equipment expenditure is needed.
Application
SINGLEPATH® Salmonella is an immunochromatographic rapid test intended for use in microbiology laboratories analyzing food and animal feeds for the presumptive qualitative detection of Salmonella spp. from food matrices such as meats (raw ground beef and raw ground turkey), spices (black pepper), dairy (dried skimmed milk), dried foods (coconut) and seafood (cooked, peeled frozen prawns).
