Typical Composition (g/litre)
Peptone from meat 10.0; DL-tryptophan 1.0; sodium chloride 5.0.
Preparation
Suspend 16 g/litre, dispense into suitable containers, autoclave (15 min at 121 °C).
pH: 7.2 ± 0.2 at 25 °C.
The prepared broth is clear and yellowish-brown.
Experimental Procedure and Evaluation
The broth is inoculated with the pure culture to be tested and incubated according to DEV 4 to 6 hours at 35 °C aerobically.
